As a safety professional, you have been asked to create a handbook explaining the various types of biological agents employees may have contact with in the workplace. In addition, you have been asked to include information regarding the basic exposure mechanisms for biological agents, methods of evaluation and control for biological agents, and methods of sampling for biological agents. You may use the training topics discussed on pages 128-129 of your textbook as a guide. Also, please feel free to use the CSU online library to locate additional information that you feel should be included in your handbook.
This assignment should consist of no less than three pages, and any outside sources.
Please structure your answers to the questions posed in professional manner, citing the URL, and if applicable, the journal article, from which the material was taken. Provide your response below each. Answers to each question (1 & 2) should be approximately one page in length. There is no minimum or maximum for each subpart (A &B)
1) Recent politics and the environment. As has been evidenced during the recent transition of power, the political affiliation of an elected official can (at times) dramatically alter the ability of a government agency to operate as it has heretofore done.
A. Citing two sources, describe a recent political situation that affected an environmentally minded organization’s daily functioning.
B. What did the elected official do that impacted the agency? In your opinion, was it within his/her rights to do so? Is there any evidence that the actions were constitutionally acceptable? How do we know?
2) Historical politics and the environment. Research the nature of politics and the environment from an historical perspective.
A. Are any groups, parties, or sects historically politically averse to environmentally friendly legislation? Please identify which groups, exist? Do any common roadblocks exist prohibiting the passage of laws that are protective in nature of the environment?
B. Based on your research, what level of evidence is needed to warrant and/or substantiate a conversation toward the passage or more strict or relaxing regulations?
